A couple of months ago, my friends Chris and Dimitri invaded my house with a small film crew. They were shooting a music video for ‘The World Is Empty’, a track by electronic artist Elliott Spencer, and decided that my bedroom and loungeroom window were perfect locations for elements of their moody tale of misplaced love. They’ve just released the finished video and it’s seriously great – check it out.
Naturally, I took a bunch of photos while they were filming, so here’s a peek behind the scenes.

Talented jewelers and all-round great ladies, Min and Rhiannon in their studio.

Over the last two weeks I’ve been documenting the Manifestations of Now exhibition held at Federation Square.
As the exhibition featured a number of artist talks and Q&A sessions, the bulk of my work consisted of hanging back and photographing groups of people talking, which was a nice change of pace from directing people through portrait sessions.

Last Friday night A Dead Forest Index performed as part of the re-launch of the newly refurbished Federation Bells. Advertised as ‘an eerie late night event’, it was the perfect setting for the quite haunting music of the band, and the sound of the bells themselves certainly added to the slightly creepy atmosphere of the performance.

In late December last year, my partner and I took a trip through China. For two and a half weeks we explored Hong Kong, Macau and Shanghai. There are far too many highlights to mention but, suffice it to say, this was easily the most rewarding, eye-opening and often overwhelming experience of my life thus far.
Somewhat surprisingly, I didn’t take a vast number of photos. In many cases I preferred to simply take in the experiences first-hand rather than through the viewfinder of a camera, to be enjoyed later.
Of the photos I did take, I’ve already featured a handful on my photodiary. Here is a slightly more extensive selection…
